Description

Butterfly is a high concentration photovoltaic system in which the lenses mounted on the modules focus sunlight onto small multi-junction cells of the latest generation . This technology guarantees a photovoltaic conversion efficiency twice that of traditional panels. The functioning of these panels requires a very accurate tracking system that ensures the proper tracking of the modules toward sun.

Alitec has conceived, designed and manufactured solar trackers, equipped by a tracking system very innovative and reliable, allowing a very accurate pointing, thus offering a high performance ratio of the power plant.


The numerous tests carried out on its products and the numerous installations made, place Alitec among the world leaders in the  concentrated photovoltaics field.

 

Features

  • three versions available: 14.0 kWp, 11 kWp and 7.4 kWp
  • self-configuring: the system independently identifies the parameters that maximize the energy produced
  • it does not require any land leveling: it can be installed in hilly areas
  • it allows the simultaneous use of agricultural or pastoral areas were the plant is installed
  • the plant is totally recyclable and there is no need for land reclamation at the end of its life

 

Innovations

  1.  Tracker mechanics (international patent pending)
    •  articulated join with no play that doesn't require any scheduled maintenance
    • pointing accuracy of 0.1°
    • Total pointing warranty: rotations between 0° and 360° degrees on horizontal plane and between 0° and 90° degrees on vertical plane
    • mechanical joints protected against the infiltration of foreign material
  2. Electronic control and solar pointing sensor (international patent pending)
    • electronic management of the tracking movement  with hybrid strategy and MPPA (Maximum Power Point Alignment) function: the tracking is achieved following an ephemeris algorithm  (which ensures alignment even with the presence of a variable sun) periodically corrected by a check on the effective alignment with the sun
    • the alignment is measured by a solar pointing sensor that has an accuracy of 0.01°
    • the system acquires the instantaneous data production to identify the alignment parameters in order to ensure the maximum productivity of CPV panels
    • auto-tracking functionality: the system is self-aligning both during the installation phase and after any change in the initial configuration (land settling, earthquake, etc.)
  3. Distributed management of MPPT functions
    • better land use: you can install the systems with higher surface density than the density currently achievable
    • extensive management and control of the system: the monitoring of productivity and self diagnosis are carried out for each individual installation (for a few kWp order), as well as for the totality of the installed plants in a centralized manner
    • 3-5% of increase in productivity for plants of large size with high power inverter
  4. Remote management of the trackers
    • setting, control and management of the tracker and tracking system parameters
